At The Canal Building, Regent’s Wharf, Imperial Building Solutions delivered a highly detailed, design-led fit-out in collaboration with renowned international architecture practice Sordo Madaleno.
This project required exceptional craftsmanship, coordination, and technical problem-solving to bring a complex architectural vision to life within a converted warehouse setting overlooking the canal.

Our Approach

From the outset, our focus was on precision and collaboration. Working closely with the design team, we began by installing new power and data services beneath the raised access floor, ensuring futureproofed functionality and a clean finish. This was complemented by a fully integrated smart lighting system, giving the client total control over ambience and energy performance.

The scheme included a series of meeting rooms and private offices, constructed using three-metre-high oiled mild steel-clad walls. Each wall was carefully fabricated with recesses for integrated televisions, maintaining a seamless aesthetic. To enhance acoustics and comfort, sound-absorbing ceiling panels were fitted, while our team produced curved GRG mouldings to follow the building’s unique canal-side window lines — complete with hidden blind recesses for a crisp, architectural finish.

Design Details

In keeping with the building’s industrial heritage, we laid rustic timber flooring throughout and installed steel-framed glazed partitions, balancing transparency and texture. The works also included the installation of a bespoke tea point, HVAC modifications to suit the reconfigured layout, and a new intercom and security system.

The Result

The finished space combines craft, character, and technical excellence. It reflects Imperial’s ability to translate complex, design-led concepts into beautifully executed reality — with every detail aligning to the architect’s vision.
